The ETC Eos family of products includes Eos, Ion and the Eos Remote Processor Unit (RPU).
If you are in a theatrical type venue and like tracking consoles, your past experience is with Strand 500 desks, or your appreciate consoles with tracking backup, then the Eos or Ion is probably the best desk for you. Eos is also just as capable of running live events, with features constantly being added to the software to improve it even further.
With organisations like the Ambassador Theatre Group, the National Theatre and English National Ballet buying Eos, this relatively new desk has proven itself over and over again to be the desk of choice.
